About Natalie

Dr. Natalie Gruber is a well-being scholar, practitioner, researcher, and consultant. Her expertise is at the intersections of mental and relational health and systems change. She has a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Innovation (Arizona State University), a master’s degree in clinical social work (LCSW, University of Michigan) and a bachelor’s degree in psychology (University of Michigan). Dr. Gruber is a certified mindfulness teacher (University of California Los Angeles) and art therapist (Northwestern University). Over the last several years, Dr. Gruber’s research, teaching, and program development has focused on well-being practices for the promotion of mental health and relational connection, addressing a variety of issues connected to the mental health crisis and loneliness epidemic. To support this work, she has received multiple grants from the Teachers Colleges at Arizona State University and Columbia University and the John Templeton Foundation. Dr. Gruber has co-authored several publications in peer-reviewed academic journals and book chapters, on well-being practices, including mindfulness, the creative process, and arts-based methods for healing as conduits for mental and relational health and flourishing. Her work has also been featured in other outlets such as the Greater Good Science Center Magazine and the Silver Linings for Learning podcast. Dr. Gruber has presented at multiple universities, nationally and internationally, in schools and a range of other organizations. She lives in the Phoenix area with her husband, twin sons, and dog.
